Figo's owner is Audrey Stone, 62 years old. When this blind woman was walking through the intersection on North Main Street on the morning of June 8, a bus suddenly sped up. When the ambulance arrived, Figo still wanted to be with his master.

Moe DeSantis, a Brewster Fire Department official who was at the scene of the crash, said the bus was carrying two students and no one was injured, including the driver.

According to Dr. LouAnn Pfeifer, Figo underwent surgery at Middlebranch Veterinary Hospital in Carmel, New York and is now recovering well.
